Aspects of collagraph: timeless tones (A)

In the second of three workshops breaking down the medium of collagraph into 3 areas, we will explore different options for creating a range of tones on a printing plate, from bright white to deepest black.

I will provide examples of different ways of creating tone through collaging a range of materials, to help you develop your own printing plate. You will then be guided through the steps to print your plate on my etching press. There will also be the opportunity to introduce colour into your work.

The choice of subject is yours - bring a photograph or drawing to the workshop, or work more spontaneously when you get here. Alternatively, make use of my collection of photographs on a wide range of subjects.

One of a series of one day workshops in the relaxed atmosphere of my studio, with tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the day, and small numbers (max 4) of guaranteed lovely participants!

All specialist equipment and materials provided.
